Best meal in Miami. And by best, I mean the Peking Duck. The value isn't bad as a whole duck is good for 3-4 people. I also love the sea bass. Great for a celebration or if you just want to enjoy a good meal. The atmosphere is always good and the service is great! Can't wait to come back.
Great time. Luis was very accommodating and helped us switch to an outside seat which made our experience AMAZING. Outdoor decoration is so peaceful and beautiful. Aurielo was attentive and thoughtful, guiding us through the menu and even got us a mojito mocktail! We enjoyed the outdoor ambiance, entrees, dumplings, and dessert. The nonalcoholic limitless drink wasn't good and the lobster "for the table" appetizer was much smaller than expected but very tasty. We LOVED the Japanese pancake dessert - so lightly, fluffy, and tasty. Great nice birthday dinner. Overall this is a classic Miami Asian-fusion kinda place, but they actually do a really good job with their fusion dishes.
A fun beautiful restaurant in Miami! We came here with a big bachelorette group on a Saturday night, and it was a fun time with a dragon that came out towards the end of our meal. We got some tasty dumplings to share for appetizer and a couple rounds of drinks. I loved the spicy jaja margarita and they call me Bruce cocktails. I shared the hamachi jalapeño, spicy bluefin tuna roll, dragon roll, and Brussels sprouts. These were all so fresh and tasty. I also tried the korean fried chicken, which was delicious and spicy as well. Service was pretty quick and overall a great experience!
So I'm going to give you the absolute real about Komodo. Here goes: First of it is the hottest if not the hottest spot in Miami that serves just as amazing food. It is lively! This is where you go out to celebrate, bring out of town guests and be seen. So I booked a special event for 25 guests to host a celebratory dinner. It came up to about 5K. Let's start with the positive. The food was absolutely delicious and our head waiter Tony was on point. The standouts were the beef dumplings and salmon tacos. The dinner was absolutely delicious. I loved the steak and bokchoy. The absolute winner for the dessert was the mojito sorbet. The drinks were amazing as well. This place has the best lychee martinis I have ever had to date. If you ever get a chance, definitely do the dragon show. Now the negatives, the hostess was definitely high on drugs. The service was lacking and it seemed very chaotic. I was promised that we would be seated right away and instead we were standing around packed like sardines. This should not be the case if you booked a private event. Also, it was so hot that night without A/C. I think thats something that should be noted and they should provide proper fans in the bird-nest. I would definitely come back again for dinner and drinks but I wouldn't book private events here. They need to do better with host staff and liguistics. They seem very flustered. Being a New Yorker in the foodie scene and fine dining, I have to say I was disappointed in the private dinner but I would come back for dinner and we did have a great time thanks to Tony!
Had an amazing time at Komodo for a friends birthday!!!! This is a known spot in Miami and for a good reason. It is a tapas styled Asian spot with lots of different options. We ordered A TON of rolls and appetizers and all were delicious. This is the perfect spot for a big party but also an intimate date. We also got drinks from their large and unique drink menu. All the food and drinks were amazing and I couldn't recommend more. The interior and atmosphere was very open and beautiful. It resembled being in a tropical environment and I loved the placing of nature inside. It was dimly lit which makes it a nice atmosphere for dinners. It's a large space with both indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. If you sit at the bar it's an open kitchen view. The service was good. Our food came out quickly and everything was accurate. However they don't split the check with larger parties. Overall this was a great experience and I would highly recommend!!! All good things to say and I will definitely be coming back :))
Komodo is excellent all around! I've been here twice now and I'm always impressed how efficiently this place is run with the amount of tables. Service is amazing-- our waiter really took the time with us even though he clearly had a lot of tables. As far as the food, the duck is a no brainer. It's enough to feed 4 people with a couple other things and maybe one other entree, so even thought its $115, it's not a bad deal. And It's just so good! We also got the Miso Chilean Seabass which is one of the best fish dishes I've had in so long. I could honestly eat it every day! The energy in Komodo is so lively. Even at 7:30, it was packed and buzzing. One of my favorite spots in Brickell!
Wow! I was blown away by Komodo. Although you might be skeptical of any place that seems so "trendy," Komodo has definitely earned its reputation. The dining room is huge, and we were lucky enough to get to sit outside on the terrace--which was even bigger! There are multiple levels outside, and it almost feels like you're eating in the treetops. I will say the fans were at times difficult because it had our hair going wild, but the alternative is being super hot, so I'll take it! Our waiter Rafael was so friendly and helpful, always eager to chat and give tips--we felt like we had our own waiters' undivided attention although it was definitely super busy. As far as food goes, The Pikachu drink was a tasty tequila cocktail but I definitely mostly ordered it for the glass the edamame was a tasty course to start out with, but the main event, the Peking duck, was SO good. It was rich and flavorful and the accompanying sauce was a nice complement. The sea bass was also super tasty--it cut like butter and melts in your mouth. The wagyu fried rice was the sleeper hit of the evening--not to be overlooked. For dessert we had ice cream mochi which was a nice way to end the meal. Definitely recommend Komodo to anyone looking for a nice night out or a special occasion!
Finally got around to trying Komodo! Walking in makes you feel like VIP and very exclusive as it feels almost like a hidden club. The front of the restaurant is the bar and check-in area. Checking in was difficult because there were a bunch of people in the way. Waiting for your table is madness, and the hostesses do not call out your name and instead come up to you by judging how many people are in your party. This process was messy and way too crowded. While waiting, we got drinks. I ordered the Pineapple Express. Not gonna lie this gave me heart burn between the pineapple and tajin, but overall not bad. The best drink however was the They Call Me Bruce. It was refreshing and easy to drink - you won't know you're drunk just til you stand up! The food was outstanding. The crispy rice lobster dynamite was phenomenal. Crisped to perfect, buttery, and the perfect size bite. The crab king lo mein was to die for!!! The portion is bigger than it looks too. The shishito peppers are perfect to share. They're charred to perfection and not overly salty. The cereal rock shrimp was soooo good. I recommend dipping the shrimp in the sauce and then coating it with the cereal after. Pro tip: save the cereal to top off your other food! The chocolate dumplings were unique and were essentially chocolate mousse. The feel of the place is yuppie and bougie. The place is riddled with snooty influencers and their sugar daddies and bachelorette parties, but hey that's Brickell for you. If you don't mind that, the food is actually phenomenal!
